E-vehicle charging stations every 40-60 km, 40,000 km of highway coverage: NHAI’s 2023 target:
Road Secretary and NHAI chairman Giridhar Aramane said 700 charging stations will come up as part of wayside amenities on national highways.
New Delhi: In a big push to the usage of electric vehicles in the country, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set a target to install charging stations every 40 to 60 kilometres on national highways, Road Secretary Giridhar Aramane told.
Aramane, also the NHAI chairman, added that the authority is planning to cover 35,000-40,000 km of national highways with charging stations by 2023. In all, 700 charging stations will come up over the next two years.
